Easy Chocolate Frosting for Brownies

You know the expression sweet tooth? Well, my kids know that Grandma has a chocolate tooth!

That being said, my mom has lots of tips and tricks to get a little more chocolate into your diet. And today’s hint comes from her. So thanks Mom, I guess you can never have enough chocolate.

For a super easy, always delicious frosting for brownies, just use chocolate chips. Immediately after removing a pan of brownies from the oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot brownies. For an 8×8 inch pan I use about 1 cup of chips. Wait a couple of minutes, until the chocolate chips are shiny and soft, and then spread with a table knife or spatula. If you want to get fancy, you could even sprinkle chopped nuts, crushed peppermint, or toasted coconut over the chocolate at this point. As the brownies cool the chocolate will harden and make a frosting-like layer on top. YUMMY! My kids love this and it couldn’t get much easier.

Once the chips soften, spread to create a frosting.
